3D MAGAZINE COVER
LOGOS · BRANDING · DIGITAL ILLUSTRATION · 3D MODELING
This cover concept turns a real-life headline into a visual metaphor. I created a surreal 3D scene using Cinema4D — a lottery ticket going into a paper shredder, and instead of shreds coming out, it’s hundred-dollar bills.
The idea? Sometimes, we don’t even realize how close we are to life-changing moments.
Research
- Looked into the real article to understand the tone and details
- Looked at how 3D elements are used in editorial design and magazine art
- Sketched different ways to represent “almost throwing away money” before landing on the shredder idea
- Researched how money and tickets are usually illustrated in 3D for realism but kept a bit of a stylized look
Design & Execution
- Modeled a paper shredder in Cinema4D, stylized to look clean and a bit exaggerated
- Created a 3D lottery ticket entering the top — realistic but graphic enough to read clearly
- Instead of shredded paper, $100 bills come out from the bottom, flowing like they’re printing out

THE MOCKUP
I added color to my sketch in Photoshop and created the cover layout in Illustrator. Putting them together helped me decide on the final look.
Final Results
This piece walks the line between storytelling and design. It’s playful, punchy, and a little ironic. The kind of cover that makes you pause and think — how often do we miss the big stuff?
