STATE SLOGAN POSTER SERIES

This poster series takes a fresh, minimal approach to state pride. Instead of using state names, I focused on their official slogans and paired them with illustrations of their state animals. This resulted in a collection that makes you want to hang it in your space whether or not you’re from the state.
I wanted to create something different from the typical state poster — no maps, no labels. Just the feeling of the place through its slogan and animal.
The goal was to keep it simple but still tell a story.
Research
- I looked into each state’s official slogan and animal to make sure the symbolism was accurate and meaningful.
- Pulled inspiration from wildlife illustrations, modern poster design, and minimalist typography.
- Focused on how to balance clean design with personality — nothing too flat or generic.
